EducationTips to maintain a good blog

Date:

blog or a website is an important way of sharing information online on any subject or topic. A blog is considered to be a good one if it is updated regularly and also has key topics covered that the audience requires. If you own a blog or if you work in an internet company that takes care of websites of several clients, make sure to follow the following tips:

1) Write what the audience wants to read:

For example, today is Navratri so the audience online would be wanting to read more about how Navratri is celebrated and why the festival has its significance in different parts of the country. You can write on trending topics like festivals, key events, and even topics that get wide coverage in the media. The content has to be timely and also ensure that the information is updated and not outdated. If you give the audience what they want, they will surely recommend it to other users who are looking for similar content on the web.

2) Read what others are covering in the same domain:

In the same industry, be it media, food, education, or lifestyle, you will have to read blogs or websites that are ranking higher than yours. Follow the websites and know how they cover content, promote on social media and reach out to their audiences to keep them engaged. I am sure you will be able to get far better ideas for your blog or your company’s blog when you do your research on the internet well. You can also get a deeper understanding of a particular topic when you have read content from 4-5 different websites offering information and advice.

3) Have a content calendar in place:

You may never know what is going to be published a week later unless you plan for the same. You can keep certain ideas to crop up at the last minute, like 20 topics in a month can be written randomly and as per the trending times. But you can at least keep 80 topics ready in your calendar wherein you know what you are going to share in each of the topics and how it will benefit the users.

4) Don’t get addicted to your blog or website:

If you really want your blog to mint money, then give it time and space. You cannot simply keep working on your blog for 12 hours a day and expect that you will make money instantly. You will have to come out of your comfort zone sometimes and even have to not publish on your blog for some days. This is because you as a person need freshness in your mind to write and publish. You are not a robot who can just be stagnant and over a period of time, you will obviously face burnout from spending the majority of your time on your blog or website.

Just chill around when things don’t go as per your plan. Internet is a random industry, things change quickly, and algorithms of search engines are not pre-planned thus, avoid getting anxious if your blog or website fails. Get some new ideas and start afresh till you get to survive!
