The upcoming trend in entrepreneurship is Homepreneurship. Home-based businesses are what homepreneurs set up and make a living from. The ease of doing home-based business in India has improved from earlier times. There is more awareness and more men and women are taking up homepreneurship by setting up micro-enterprises from their homes. After all, homepreneurship offers a better work-life balance with people following their passion well. Homepreneurship is also touted to be one of the areas where more job opportunities will be created for the low-income or economically disadvantaged sections of society.

In order to not fail in your homepreneurship abruptly, here are some risks that should be managed well.
1) Never overdo and it also involves overspending:
As homepreneurs, we would really feel on top of the world as we have our own office from home. We may think we are real entrepreneurs who will achieve success because our ideas are unique, promising, out-of-the-box, solve real-life problems, etc. But these inspiring thoughts shouldn’t motivate us to become overconfident in our business idea. We should start small and be small till we get the actual backing of a financier. As far as you are spending your own hard-earned money or the finances of your family members, ensure that you don’t overspend on unnecessary things that will hit you hard if your business fails.
2) Never ever get demotivated:
Yes, the initial stage may be difficult, or maybe after some years of homepreneurship too, you will not get the needed attention that you are craving for your home-based business. It is all in the destiny after all. And you cannot blame others for not being able to scale up or get the required number of clients to get bulk orders or projects. These things are part of life’s process and shouldn’t be taken to your heart. You need to start preparing yourself for both the good and bad times in your homepreneurship journey. If clients don’t pay you on time, probably you should have enough funds in your savings so that you can pay yourself and others who are involved in your home-based business. Keep going ahead and never feel bad about the business losses.
3) Never think of expanding or quitting your business without a proper plan:
You cannot quit your home-based business all in one day just because you don’t feel satisfied. Same way, you don’t have to quickly expand your home-based business by hiring more people for your ideas if that work can be done by yourself and on your own. Remember there has to be a proper plan in place for your business, wherein you set short-term goals majorly and also break down each goal into achievable action points. If at all you think your business won’t work and you have that gut feeling, then try to come up with ideas that will work for you. Go with your instincts and market knowledge and don’t rely on other people’s advice just because you think they are your well-wishers.
