Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank recently conducted a review meeting with the Secretary of School Education and Literacy Department, Chairman of Central Board of Secondary Education and Director General of National Testing Agency (NTA).
The focus of the meeting was to discuss about the current education scenario in the wake of coronavirus pandemic in India.
Due to COVID-19, schools, colleges and all educational institutes have been shut from 25 March 2020.
The officials plan to reopen the schools, colleges, educational/training/coaching institutions after having discussions with States and UTs during Phase II of Unlock1.
After taking the required feedback, the MHA will decide if they want to reopen these institutions from July 2020. A separate standard operating procedures will be prepared by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) for reopening the educational institutions.
Currently, many schools and colleges are encouraging students to study online but the mode of learning is not being acceptable to one and all due to lack of infrastructure and thought processes.
