How to match your skills with the job profile?

If you are someone who is constantly searching for new job updates on LinkedIn, Naukri, and other job websites, remember mindlessly just applying won’t help you to get rid of the current job. You need to first list down what are your strengths, skills, expectations from the job in terms of job location, salary, timings, and job role. Once you have clarity in terms of what and why you are looking for a job change, you can easily navigate through the job listings in a confident manner.

Amidst pandemic, job count grows in 9 key sectors in April-June quarter

So, if you have logged in to Naukri, then you can type in the search bar about the job designation you are looking for, click on the required fields of the expected salary range, job location, years of experience, etc. Once you get the refined listing, now carefully read the job description or details mentioned by the employer or recruiter on the listing. You need to check out the main skills that the employer and the company are looking for.

Also, you need to match the required skillset and job role with what you have done so far in your career and what you plan to do in your career for the next 5 or 10 years. Remember no employer wants a candidate for a short-term basis. You need to have that confidence that if you get selected for the job, you will be willing to work with the company, learn on the job and even give your best. Of course, you should be also knowing how to negotiate the salary as per your expectations so that it shouldn’t be a reason to reject the offer if you get selected.

As much as your skills should match, also note that your thinking and mindset to work with the company’s employer should also balance, otherwise you won’t be able to achieve the progress that you aim for.
