Work targets or goals set by your company for a week or month or year help you to perform at the job and in exchange get paid for your contribution to the company. However, when you repeatedly fail to meet the company targets, you are almost not looked at as a productive employee by the company. If there are no competent employees in your company, then your job is secured as your under-performance will still be looked at as the training and development required to upskill you so that you achieve the targets. However, if there is stiff competition in your company then chances are that you will have to search for another job sooner or later if you continue to underperform for more than three months.

Here are some ways through which you can achieve your work targets in a timely basis.
1) Prepare a list of your daily work:
This has to be made considering you have to complete the daily targets of work. You can use a notepad on your laptop or you can use some workplace apps that will keep reminding you to achieve the targets. You can also make a list using a pen and paper and write down all the important work that you have to do in the first half of the work day. Create small goals for your daily work. For example, if you have a client meeting, then write down 2-3 tasks related to the same and start ticking them as you achieve. You can even write down the important pointers you want to discuss in the client meeting so that you don’t appear unprepared.

2) Get help from a productive colleague:
If you are someone who is unable to use the technology well, you can ask 15-20 minutes of a high-achiever employee in your workplace. He or she can teach you the skills to do your work swiftly. You can even ask them to do some work for you in the initial days just so that you learn how they do the work on time and also get the title of high-achiever employee.
3) Discuss with your boss your issues:
Preferably an HR manager or your immediate boss should be aware of the main reasons you are not able to complete your work targets. It can also be because of a lack of particular skills or maybe some issue with the client that is making you delay your work. Once your boss or HR manager becomes aware of your issues at work, they will be able to guide you to work well.
4) Separate your personal issues from your professional life:
If your personal issues or health issues are the reasons behind your lagging in the work targets, then it is high time for you to separate the two lives. When you are at the workplace, there should be no negative thoughts about your personal problems or health issues. You should know how to handle your work targets by learning how to focus on work and commit yourself to achieving the targets.
