“My goals do not end with motherhood”, says Mountaineer Bhawna

Bhawna says “Motherhood is a beautiful part of my life. I am living the best days of my lifespan. Being in the motherhood phase does not mean that I would be compromising with my goals ahead. I have just taken the back seat for now. I will continue my expedition with the same zeal and enthusiasm shortly. In our Indian society, there is still a mentality that women had to leave their dreams and goals as soon as they get married or become a mother. But I had already decided before planning a baby that I would continue my goal of completing the summit of all the highest peaks of seven continents.”

Notably, Bhawna is one of the first women from Madhya Pradesh to climb Mount Everest on May 22, 2019. She has also climbed Mount Aconcagua, South America reaching a height of 6500 meters on December 31, 2019; Mount Manirang, Himachal Pradesh, covering 6593 meters summit in August 2018 and Mount DKD 2nd (5670 meters) Ghadwal summit in 2017. Besides, she also holds Guinness World Records for promoting the Himalayan Mountain Range worldwide during an online event organised by Coimbatore based Transcend Adventures and Snow Leopard Adventures on August 15, 2020.

My goals are as high as my passion and determination so I will continue on my track path and will scale all the seven highest peaks of the world to make my village, state, and country proud”.

Also, on this very special Women’s Day, I would say to all the women out there that do not compromise with your dreams. So far you have lived your life for your loved ones, now give a chance to yourself”, added Bhawna.
