Today let’s take you to a simple journey of a vegetable-seller, after all he also runs a business, which no one notices and has time to appreciate on.
Ram is a vegetable-seller who had set up his shop in a small area in a city. His home was located nearby and he has a family of three children and wife.
Ram due to some physical illness couldn’t attend the shop and went to his village alone to take time off from work and also recover naturally.
His teenaged son Dheeraj took the responsibility of the shop. Soon came the pandemic when all the police officials showed their strict side to all the vegetable sellers and shops to closedown for many months.
Dheeraj thought although the shop has to be closed but business needn’t. He decided to start using technology to reach out to the buyers. He took a chalk and a black board and hanged it outside his closed vegetable gaadi. It read, “Free home delivery, just call or whatsapp (number)”.
When many households in the nearby localities were struggling with buying vegetables, he distributed the pamphlets that his service of vegetable-selling is available and all people have to do is just give a call and the vegetables will be at their door-step.
Now after so many months of the lockdown and as relaxations are happening, Ram’s vegetable shop has increased sales like anything. When Ram returned back, he was surprised to see his son’s ideas to ensure that income kept coming even in the adversity times.
Now Ram and Dheeraj together also have selling fruits and do home-delivery of fruits and vegetables with discounted offers.
They use WhatsApp to share rates of their items on a daily basis to update their existing customers and also get many new customers for their sincere service.
