New Delhi: The 10th class examinations of the Central Board of Secondary Education have been canceled this time. At the same time, the exams of class 12th have been postponed. In the midst of the ongoing debate over cancellation of examinations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday held a meeting with the Education Minister, in which this decision has been taken.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday called Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Union Education Secretary and several top officials for a meeting on the issue of examinations. After the meeting, a statement was issued saying that the Central Government has canceled the CBSE Class 10 examination in the wake of growing cases of Covid-19 epidemic across the country, while deciding to postpone the examination of the 12th.

The Ministry of Education has said that after this decision, it will review the situation again on June 1. The ministry has said that the board will create a criterion system to get the results of Class 10 children and the examinations of class 12 will be taken later. Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal tweeted that in the meeting, PM Modi said that the safety of children is the priority of the government, so this decision has been taken.
