Washington: US President Donald Trump said on Thursday he and his wife Melania had tested positive for COVID-19 and were in quarantine, after Hope Hicks, one of his closest advisers, tested positive for the disease.

In a Tweet, Trump said he and Melania would “get through this together”.

According to reports, Hope Hicks was playing an important role in Trump’s presidential campaign for the last few days. She was also constantly traveling with Donald Trump in his aircraft, Air Force One. However, Trump will now have to remain quarantined for 14 days. He will be tested again corona after a week.

She was also with Trump at a campaign event in Minnesota on Wednesday and flew back to the White House with him on the Marine One helicopter after the rally.
