President Kovind, PM Modi paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat

New Delhi. President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid floral tributes at the 151st birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat here on Friday. Kovind and Modi also paid tribute to former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri at Vijay Ghat on his birth anniversary.

Modi paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and said that a lot can be learned from his life and thoughts. Prime Minister Modi wished that Bapu’s ideals continue to guide us in creating a prosperous and compassionate India.

Many dignitaries paid tributes at Gandhi’s memorial at Rajghat and during this period all-religion prayers were offered and the beloved hymns of the Father of the Nation ‘Vaishnav Jan To’ and ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’ were sung. Several dignitaries including Union Ministers Hardeep Singh Puri and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad paid tributes to the Father of the Nation in Rajghat.
