New Delhi: Even though the cases of corona virus infection have come down from 28 thousand to one thousand in Delhi, the report prepared by IIT Delhi about the possible third wave has come out is very scary. In this report, it is said that during the third wave, about 45,000 Covid cases may come to Delhi every day.
According to an English newspaper report, a report submitted to the Delhi High Court on Friday stated that 944 metric tonnes of medical oxygen will be required daily in Delhi to deal with such a crisis.
IIT Delhi has mentioned three situations in a possible third wave. Like the second wave in the first situation, the cases of infection, the number of patients admitted to the hospital and the need for oxygen have been estimated accordingly. In the second case, estimates are based on 30 per cent more cases of infection and in the third case, 60 per cent more cases.
It states that 60 percent increase above the peak of the second wave will be the worst situation and the government will have to be prepared for adequate oxygen supply. According to Professor Sanjay Dhir of IIT Delhi in the Delhi High Court, with increasing oxygen storage, the supply line outside Delhi will have to be strengthened. Apart from this, a pressure swing absorption (PSA) plant and 20-25 cryogenic tankers with a capacity of 20-100 tonnes will be required.
