New Delhi: Amidst the second wave of Corona epidemic, a new strain of virus has been found in Andhra Pradesh. It is named AP Strain and N440K. Scientists at the Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) claim that it is 15 times more dangerous than the current strain in India. This is the new variant after B1.617 and B1.618.
So far 5 variants of Corona have been found in South India. Among these, AP strain is spreading rapidly in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana. Its effect has also been seen in Maharashtra. The strain was first identified in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. This fear may be due to the fear that was born among the people in Visakhapatnam and other parts of the state.
CCMB scientists found during the study, “Corona’s N440k variant has the ability to spread 15 times more viruses than the A2a prototype strain. Corona’s A2a prototype strain is spread worldwide. So the Corona’s N440k The variant has the potential to produce many more viruses in less time. “
Scientists have collected samples of the virus from several centers, 50 percent of them have been found to be the N440k variant of the corona. It also revealed that this virus is spreading in a particular part of the population and it is more local than other variants.
