New Delhi: The fees for RT-PCR tests to detect Covid-19 in the national capital have now come down. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has directed all private labs to reduce the RT-PCR test fee from Rs 2400 to Rs 800. He said that this will help people going to private labs for the Covid-19 testing.
According to an order issued by the Health Department, Private Labs has been asked to charge Rs 800 for RT-PCR test of samples of Covid 19 testing collected by the government team and collected from the collection sites by the private sector labs. However, the testing cost for samples collected from home will be Rs 1200.
All the labs and hospitals have also been asked to display the new rate of the test at any appropriate place within 24 hours. Private labs have also been instructed to complete the processing of samples, report sharing to clients and updating all reports on the ICMR portal within 24 hours of collection.
