New Delhi: India on Friday reported the worst single-day spike in the world with a record 77,266 fresh Coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the tally to 33,87,501. As many as 1,057 fatalities were reported in the same period pushing the death toll to 61,529, Union Health Ministry data shows.

According to the data released by the Health Ministry on Friday morning, 77,266 new cases have been reported in India in the last 24 hours and 1,057 infected have died. The total number of corona cases in the country has reached 33 lakh, 87 thousand, 501. At present there are 7 lakh, 42 thousand, 23 active cases. However, it is a matter of relief that 25 lakh, 83 thousand, 948 patients have been cured, who have been discharged from hospitals. At the same time, 61 thousand, 529 patients have died in Corona so far.

The Union Health Ministry said that the recovery rate of Covid-19 patients in India has increased to more than 76 percent today. The number of existing patients in the country, ie the ‘actual caseload’, has been reduced by such a large number of cures of infected people in India. It currently accounts for only 21.87% of total infected cases.
