Lucknow: The number of corona virus cases in Uttar Pradesh has crossed 1500. Principal Secretary of Health Department Amit Mohan Prasad informed on Thursday (April 23) that there have been 1507 cases of corona virus in the state. There are currently 1299 cases active in UP. 187 people have been sent home after successful treatment while 21 people infected with covid-19 have died.
Now 11 districts in Uttar Pradesh, Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Hathras, Bareilly, Prayagraj, Maharajganj, Shahjahanpur, Barabanki, Hardoi and Kaushambi have become completely Corona virus free.
With 13 new cases of covid-19 in Saharanpur, the total number of infected with corona virus in the district has increased to 127. Chief Medical Officer Dr. BS Sodhi said that 167 samples have been reported out of which 14 people have been confirmed to be infected with Corona virus. However, a sample of one patient was sent again which was confirmed to be corona positive while infection was confirmed in 13 new people. Sodhi said that all these patients are in the segregation center. Ten of them belong to Deoband, two from Lohani Sarai and one from Bakriyan.
As of now, 11 cases of infection with the corona virus have been reported late night in Bahraich and Shravasti districts, considered safe in Uttar Pradesh. Bahraich’s Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. D.K. Singh said that a report from Lucknow’s Rammanohar Lohia Institute confirmed the corona virus infection in eight patients of Bahraich. Singh said that not a single patient of Covid-19 had been found in the district so far.
