Lucknow: After continuous spurt in corona cases in the state, yesterday, the state government has decided to impose night curfew in Lucknow, Kanpur and Varanasi following the instructions of 13 district magistrates to work at their discretion to control the corona infection. This curfew has been imposed in the Lucknow Municipal Corporation area from 8 April to 16 April. The curfew will be from 9 am to 6 am, while the work will continue with the Covid protocol from 6 am to 9 pm. At the same time, a similar decision has been taken in Kanpur and Varanasi districts.

During this time, there will be an exemption to carry essential items. The night curfew will be applicable only in the Lucknow Municipal Corporation area, not in rural Lucknow. Supply of fruits, vegetables, milk, LPG, petrol-diesel and medicine will continue. Government / semi government personnel and private sector personnel working in essential goods / services will be exempted from night shift. People coming to the railway station, bus station, airport will be able to show their tickets. There will be no restriction on the movement of all types of freight trains.

At the same time, some restrictions will be imposed in Varanasi and Kanpur districts for a week from April 8. Curfew will be imposed from 9 o’clock in the night. The time of morning is being decided. All government, non-government or private schools, colleges, educational institutions and coaching institutes will be closed except medical, nursing and para medical institutions. Opening of school or college will be allowed only at the time of examination and practical examination.

Except for family social events and traditional religious events, political, social and all other programs of more than 5 people will not be allowed in Varanasi. All the parks, stadium etc. will be open in the morning and evening only a few hours. Aarti will be done on the ghats in a soft manner and the people will not participate in it. Milk, vegetable market, chemists will be exempted. Passengers, night shift employees and freight trains will also be exempt.
