Nagpur man with UK travel history suspected of carrying new strain of Covid-19

Nagpur: A 28-year-old man who recently returned from Britain in Nagpur, Maharashtra, has symptoms of a new corona strain. An official gave this information today. GMC is also confirming this news of Nagpur’s UCN News.

The government had banned movement from the UK earlier this week, following which the Nagpur Metropolitan Municipality (NMC) appealed to the recent arrivals from Britain to inform the civic body in this regard. The commissioner of Radhakrishnan B said, “The person concerned himself informed us that he had recently arrived from Britain.” He came to Nagpur from Britain 15 days ago. ” He said that his RT-PCR test was done on Tuesday and the report on Wednesday confirmed his infection. The patient’s saliva sample has been sent to the National Institute of Virology, Pune for further examination.

However, the official said, “We do not know whether it is a new form of virus or old. The person has minor symptoms and as a precaution he is kept here in a separate ward of the Government Medical College and Hospital. ” He said that the family members of the person have also been tested. They are living in isolation in their house and their health is being monitored. He recently appealed to people from Britain and Europe to give information and get their investigation done.
