Former SP minister’s nephew caught red handed for black marketing of duplicate Remdesivir injection

Noida / Meerut: There is a great demand of life-saving injection Remdesivir in the Corona period. In such a situation, the black marketing of Remdesivir is in full swing. However, profiteers have also introduced duplicate life-saving injections into the market and started selling them at expensive prices by saying that this the real Remdesivir. The Noida police arrested a gang selling duplicate Remedesivir and recovered lakhs of rupees and other injections, including 9 genuine and 140 duplicate Remdesivir injections. Among the arrested accused, the nephew of Samajwadi Party’s veteran leader and former minister Shahid Manzoor has also been arrested in Meerut.

According to the police, Mushir, the nephew of former minister along with his two colleagues Salman and Shah Rukh Khan used to do black marketing of Remedesivir injection. The accused came to the Fortis Hospital Noida to sell injections of Remedesivir when the police caught them.

Among those arrested, Dipanshu and Abdul serve as nursing staff at the Columbia Asia Hospital. Salman is an MR in a biotech company and works as an emergency technician at Musheer Healing Tree Hospital Indirapuram Ghaziabad. According to police, the accused first take the families of Corona patients in confidence and then sell Remdesivir injections.

According to the Noida Crime Branch and Sector-58 police, the accused used to buy meropenem and other cheap injections used for pneumonia. They removed the label of these injections and sticking a fake label of Remdesivir injection and sold it for 40 to 45 thousand rupees.
