In January, the vaccination against COVID-19 for children from 15-18 age has been opened. Today is the third day and it is really great to note the milestone that our country has been achieving in terms of vaccination figures. It is very saddening to see how people are getting infected and even dying due to coronavirus disease.

Appreciating the great enthusiasm that young people are showing for taking up the vaccination schedules against the coronavirus disease, union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya urged all eligible population to get themselves vaccinated as soon as possible.

Mandaviya took to Twitter to share the news and wrote how Young India is showing superb enthusiasm for vaccination. The first dose of 1 crore children getting vaccinated by the third day of vaccination drive for children is itself a wonderful achievement.

The vaccination campaign against the coronavirus disease was increased to include the children below 18 years of age by making it open for 15-18 because of the highly spreading Omicron variant of coronavirus that is infecting people’s lives like anything.

Not only are vaccines are important to be taken by the healthcare, frontline workers, and senior citizens but also for the common man so that spread of the variants of Coronavirus disease will be reduced and fewer lives will be affected.

It is the government’s initiative to protect the healthcare, frontline workers, and senior citizens that even they will be eligible to get a booster shot from 10 January. For healthcare and frontline workers, it will be immediate booster shots but for senior citizens, with comorbidities, the booster shot will be given 9 months after their second dose.
