On Saturday, the Delhi government agreed to lift market restrictions imposed owing to the coronavirus illness (Covid-19). The curbs will be abolished starting Monday, according to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. “Due to Covid-19, Delhi’s markets were permitted to operate till 8 PM.
Due to a decrease in instances, this limitation will be lifted on Monday. According to a translation of Kejriwal’s Hindi tweet, “the markets may now open at their regular hour.” According to the Delhi government’s health department, 19 instances of the virus were reported in Delhi during the previous several weeks, and the national capital registered 19 cases on Saturday.

According to health department data, 48 individuals have recovered in the previous 24 hours, bringing the positive rate to 0.03 percent. In Delhi, there are now 430 active cases. On Saturday, no new Covid-19-related deaths were reported. The decision comes only weeks after the Delhi government approved the opening of weekly markets in the city on August 9.
Several markets were shuttered in the national capital after a lockdown was implemented on April 19 because of a surge in cases during the second Covid-19 wave. Afterwards, one weekly market in each municipal area was permitted to open with enough respect to Covid-appropriate conduct and governmental regulations.
