New Delhi: After 37,566 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in India in a day, the number of infected people in the country increased to 3,03,16,897. At the same time, for the second consecutive day, less than one thousand cases of death due to infection were reported.
According to the updated data released by the Union Health Ministry on Tuesday, the death toll in the country rose to 3,97,637 after 907 more people died of infection. In the last 77 days, these are the lowest cases of death due to infection.
According to the data released by the ministry at 8 am, the number of patients under treatment for Covid-19 has come down to 5,52,659, which is 1.82 percent of the total cases. The total number of cases under treatment has come down by 20,335 in the last 24 hours. A total of 40,81,39,287 samples have been tested for COVID-19 so far, out of which 17,68,008 samples were tested on Monday.
