Covid-19: Global cases over 2.96 million, death toll above 200,000

Peris:Total number of coronavirus cases globally was more than 2.96 million and at least 206,265 people have died, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. The virus outbreak was first reported in China’s Hubei province late last year and has since spread rapidly around the world.

The United States has the most number of reported infections, with more than 963,300 cases in the country and over 54,800 deaths, Hopkins data showed.
