Black fungus: 8 Covid survivors die in Maharashtra

New Delhi: At least eight people have died due to Mucormycosis (fungal infection) in Maharashtra. These people had defeated the Covid-19, but succumbed to Mucormycosis. About 200 such patients are undergoing treatment in the state. Head of the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Dr. Tatyarao Lahane said that cases of Mucormycosis are increasing.

At the same time, the impact of the corona epidemic in Maharashtra seems to be diminishing to some extent. However, despite all the restrictions, more than 50 thousand cases are coming up. 53,605 new cases of corona infection were reported in the state during the last 24 hours, while 82,266 corona patients were cured of the disease within the same time. During this time 864 corona patients have died in the state.

With these new cases, the total corona cases in Maharashtra have now reached 50 lakh 53 thousand 336 and the total number of deaths has now risen to 75,277. So far 43 lakh 47 thousand 592 people in the state have been cured by defeating the corona infection.
