Zomato to make work from home permanent

Online food delivery giant Zomato is the next to slash jobs and cut salary of its employees due to the coronavirus lockdown.

The lockdown has led to many organizations suffering from huge losses and hence, job cuts have become common nowadays.

Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal announced that 13% of the company’s workforce i.e. over 600 employees have been shown the doors. The company has also announced salary cuts for the remaining employees for at least the next six months, starting from June 2020.

The employees who have no work at Zomato will get 50% salary for the next 6 months or more. The reason for this is as restaurants have been shut compulsorily since the lockdown, the company has no business.

The company has also announced its plans to make partial or full work from home a permanent feature. Zomato has 150 offices all over the world.
