Union Budget 2022 is “zero sum budget” for Rahul Gandhi

The Union Budget for the fiscal year 2022-23 was termed a “zero sum budget” by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday, who criticised the financial statement for lacking announcements for the working middle class. “The Zero Sum Budget of the Modi Government! There is nothing for the salaried class, the middle class, the destitute and impoverished, the youth, farmers, and small businesses ” he stated on Twitter.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget of 39.45 trillion rupee ($529.7 billion) for the fiscal year on Tuesday, pledging to increase investment in highways and affordable housing as the economy rebounds from the epidemic.

GDP growth is expected to be between 8% and 8.5 percent this fiscal year, compared to an estimated 9.2 percent this fiscal year and a 6.6 percent decrease the previous year.

Sitharaman presented the Union Budget for the fourth time today in Parliament.

While the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders praised the speech, opposition parties branded it a “betrayal” of the middle class.
