New Delhi: Over 40 million traders from over 40 thousand business organizations participated in the ‘Bharat Vyapar bandh’ of the All India Merchants Confederation in protest against the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and some provisions of the e-commerce policy, due to which There was no functioning in the markets. The Confederation said in a statement issued on Friday that desolation dominated the markets across the country and traders from all states from East to West and North to South India closed their businesses and gave a strong message to the Central Government, State Governments and GST Council. . Trade remained completely closed across the country. Business organizations in Delhi, however, did not participate in the trade-off.
The statement claimed that around 8 crore merchants, one crore transporters, 30 million hawkers and about 7.5 million small scale industries shut down their businesses across the country. The trade-offs include All India Transport Welfare Association, All India FMCG Products Distributors Federation, All India Women’s Entrepreneurs Association, Hawkers Joint Action Committee, All India Computer Media Dealers Association, Federation of All India Vegetable Oil Dealers Association, National Small Industries Association and a large number. A large number of national and state level organizations participated in the entire country.
