New Delhi: The opposition to the exemption of online goods sales to e-commerce companies during the lockdown is deepening. Annoyed retail shoppers say that exempting the sale of non-essential items online from April 20 is not justified anywhere. Calling it a conspiracy to end the country’s retail trade, the shopkeepers have decided to peacefully oppose the decision. Under this, the traders will protest against this decision of the government by playing thali, bells and conch shells in their house tomorrow i.e. Sunday at 7 pm.
Federation of All India Trade Chambers’ National General Secretary VK Bansal says that the nation’s retail traders have been instrumental in making the lockdown a success and providing essential commodities to 130 crore citizens as a warrior. But the government has allowed foreign-owned e-commerce companies to sell non-essential items online from April 20, ignoring the interests of domestic retailers.
Bansal says that the domestic retail business is already in trouble due to the slowdown of the economy, then the lockdown due to Corona, and the salaries of employees, electricity and other expenses even in closed business. In such a situation, they will be destroyed by this move of the government.
