New Delhi: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has extended the restrictions on international passenger flights till July 31. Only a limited number of flights are being operated on international routes at present.
DGCA has said that flights will continue to operate on some identified international routes with the permission of the competent authority. However, during these flights, the airlines will have to ensure that the Covid protocol related to air travel is fully complied with. In this regard, the Airport Authority of India, Airport Operators, Bureau of Immigration has also been issued. Selected flights on international routes also depend on the rules and restrictions related to the corona of the destination country. Many countries still have restrictions for travelers coming from India.
Actually, travelers going abroad for studies or employment are still facing problems. The government has started the facility of linking the vaccination with the passport to help them go abroad. However, this facility is currently only for Covidshield vaccination. People who have received the first dose of Covishield will not have to wait for 84 days for the second dose unlike normal people. They will get the second dose within 28 days and the vaccination will be linked to the passport. This will make it easier to travel to the destination countries.
