Date:

The Tata Groups Hosur plant is huge and spread over more than 500 acres. This year in the month of September, the company hired around 5,000 women to promote equal employment opportunities for women in India.
Tata Group which is the most trusted brand is currently expanding the employee strength of its electronic factory in Hosur that produces iPhone parts. This decision comes in as the Tata Group seeks to receive more orders from Apple Inc.
The Hosur based Tata’s electronic factory that makes iPhone cases will hire a large number of women within 18-24 months in order to prepare itself for a new production line. The factory currently employs 10,000 workers, most of whom are females.
According to sources; the women workers are paid better than the regular industry standards and get salaries of over Rs 16,000. The company also arranges for their food and lodging within the campus. Furthermore, Tata plans to provide training and advanced education to the workers to enhance their knowledge and help them grow in careers.
Tata Group is reportedly in conversations with Wistron to set up an electronics manufacturing joint venture to make iPhones in India.
Apple is shifting its focus and is looking to conduct its manufacturing outside China. The company wants to diversify its production away from China and deepen its supply chain in India.
