New Delhi: There has been another increase in vehicle fuel prices on Sunday. Due to this, the price of petrol in the capital Delhi has crossed Rs 95 per liter. At the same time, diesel crossed Rs 86 per liter for the first time. According to the price notification of the public sector petroleum companies, the price of petrol has been increased by 21 paise per liter and that of diesel by 20 paise per liter.

Vehicle fuel prices have increased 20 times since May 4. With this, petrol has now reached a historic high in various parts of the country. At present, petrol has crossed Rs 100 per liter in 6 states and union territories – Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Ladakh.

Petrol in Delhi is now at its record high of Rs 95.09 per liter. At the same time, diesel has reached Rs 86.01 per liter. Fuel prices vary from state to state due to local taxes such as Value Added Tax (VAT) and freight charges. Retail prices of vehicle fuels are going up due to the rise in international crude oil prices. Investors expect the market to use the surplus production from OPEC and its allies due to rising demand.
