Atlas Cycle’s Sahibabad factory closed

New Delhi: Atlas, the country’s largest bicycle maker, has closed its largest factory in Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, indefinitely. On Wednesday morning, when the workers arrived to work, they found a notice outside the company stating that the company did not have the money to run the factory.

Atlas Cycle has shut down the factory in Sahibabad. Over 1000 factory workers have been laid off. This factory of Sahibabad’s Atlas has been in operation since 1989.

Atlas Cycle was making two lakh bicycles every month before the lockdown at Sahibabad factory. Now the situation is that the workers and employees of the factory have not been given salary for the month of May.
