Amazon makes U-turn after asking employees to delete TikTok App

New Delhi: E-commerce company Amazon has to withdraw a decision. Amazon had emailed its employees to immediately remove the TikTok app. But now Amazon has come to the backfoot with the same order in which it asked the employees to remove the TikTok app.

Five hours after sending the email, it was clarified by Amazon that the mail had been error. Amazon stated in its explanation that some employees were sent emails by mistake. There is currently no change in our policies regarding tick talk.

In an email sent to employees to remove the app, the TikTok app was cited as a security threat. The company says that the Chinese app is a security threat, so tick talk should not be used on phones that receive emails from Amazon.

However, after the controversy escalated, the company termed the email regarding removal of TikTok as a error. Amazon is the second largest private employer in the US after Walmart. Amazon has over 8.40 lakh employees worldwide.
