Aditya Mittal has been selected as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ArcelorMittal, one of the world’s largest steel companies. Aditya is the son of veteran businessman Laxmi Mittal and is the company’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He will succeed his father Lakshmi Mittal. According to the statement issued by the Luxembourg-based company, the current chairman and CEO Lakshmi Mittal will now take over as the executive chairman of the company.
ArcelorMittal’s Board of Directors today announced on Thursday 11 February the President, CFO and ArcelorMittal Europe CEO Aditya Mittal to be the CEO. A unanimous decision was taken in the name of Aditya Mittal.
ArcelorMittal was founded by Lakshmi Mittal in 1976 and is currently the chairman and CEO of the company. He will take over as executive chairman after Aditya Mittal becomes chairman. In this new role, Lakshmi Mittal will continue to lead the Board of Directors and will work closely with the CEO and management team. The company issued a statement and gave this information. Genuino Christino will be made CFO after the current CFO Aditya Mittal becomes CEO. Christino joined the company in 2003 and since 2016 has held the post of finance chief.
