New Delhi.. The Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal called for the adoption of discipline and business approach in the cooperative sector. Addressing the concluding session of the India International Cooperative Trade Fair (IICTF) in New Delhi. today, he said that Sardar Patel had laid the foundation stone of the cooperative movement. He expressed happiness that more than 35,000 people attended the fair and more than 4,000 business-related inquiries were made. The fair was also attended by governors, chief ministers, foreign dignitaries. He said that an international action plan should be prepared for the development of the cooperative sector. He also suggested ways of marketing local products through the e-commerce platform.

More than one billion people are members of cooperative organizations all over the world. There are 3 million cooperative organizations in the world and about 12 percent of the world’s population is associated with cooperative organizations. 13 percent of the world’s population is associated with financial cooperative organizations, while 50 percent of the total agricultural produce is produced by agricultural cooperative organizations.

75 MoUs were signed at the three-day IICTF. Organized various sessions on topics such as Globalization of Cooperative Business, Cooperative Banking and Financial Inclusion, Empowerment of Youth and Women through Cooperative Organizations, Food Processing through Cooperative Organizations, Agri-Tech through Cooperative Organizations and Eco-friendly Agriculture, Dairy Cooperative Organization etc. Gone.

Similar to the Startup India and Standup India programs, the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) has formulated the Youth Cooperative-Cooperative Entrepreneurship Assistance and Innovation Scheme keeping in mind the youth. The scheme was launched at the IICTF fair. Sahakar Bharti launched the ‘Simply Desi’ brand for marketing and branding the products of cooperative organizations.
