Shikha Shah on being replaced in Kumkum Bhagya

Kumkum Bhagya actress Shikha Singh Shah aka Aaliya has been replaced in the show. Shikha Singh Shah recently gave birth to a baby girl and is on her maternity break. She has been playing the role for six years but the makers have now decided to replace her. Ishqbaaaz actress Reyhna Pandit will be replacing her as Aaliya in the show. In an interview with the Times Of India, Shikha Singh Shah spoke about the same. She said, “I haven’t been officially informed yet, about being replaced. I didn’t quit the show and was hoping to get back to work in January 2021, but I think it is unfair to expect the production house to wait for me till then. Also, I can’t resume work during the COVID-19 crisis, with a newborn at home.” She also spoke about her journey in Kumkum Bhagya.

She said, “I am going to miss my colleagues, as it was fun shooting for ‘Kumkum Bhagya’. But, as they say, the show has to go on and I wish them all the best.”

In an interview, Reyhna Pandit confirmed that she will be replacing Shikha Singh Shah. Reyhna revealed that she was hesitant to do the role earlier. She said, “This role has been portrayed by somebody so well, what more another actor would do to the character.” She also said that the show came as a blessing to her. Reyhna Pandit is known for playing negative roles and has no problem with it. She said, “I love playing strong characters and characters that are a little out of the box, where you have a lot of space to do a lot of things because it helps you experience a lot of things inside you as well.” She said that she doesn’t differentiate between positive and negative roles and prefer taking what comes her way if it is a good character.
