In the last week of September 2023, many Hindi and regional films were released in theatres. To name a few were Fukrey 3 and The Vaccine War among Bollywood movies. On 28 September as these two films hit the theatres, here we bring you the one-week collections of these movies in India. 

For the unversed, Fukrey 3 featured Varun Sharma, Pulkit Samrat, Manjot Singh, Pankaj Tripathi, and Richa Chadha in the comedy film. It has triumphed at the box office as the film collected so far almost Rs 63 crores nett in India.

Vivek Agnihotri’s movie The Vaccine War also released on the same day, however, is struggling at the box office as it collected only Rs 50 lakhs on day 7.

Here is the detailed overview of Fukrey 3’s box office collections day-wise. After opening at ₹8.82 crore nett in India, Fukrey 3 made another ₹7.81 crore on day 2. The next day, Fukrey 3 saw a 49.42 percent rise in numbers and collected ₹11.67 crore. On its first Sunday, the film had its highest-day-wise collection – ₹15.18 crore. On Monday, the film earned ₹11.69 crore, adding ₹4.11 crore on Tuesday and an estimated ₹3.65 crore on Wednesday to its collection at the domestic box office. In a span of seven days, Fukrey 3 has done a business of ₹62.93 crore nett in India.

However, if you compare Fukrey 3 with The Vaccine War then the film has made low numbers. The film has collected around ₹8.15 crore nett in India in its opening week. Yeah, you read it right!

The Vaccine War film is based on the story of a team of Indian scientists who developed a cost-effective vaccine against the coronavirus disease. The film opened at Rs 85 lakh on Thursday. It earned ₹90 lakh on Friday, and witnessed a rise in collection on Saturday, earning ₹1.75 crore. On Sunday, it registered ₹2.25 crore, before recording a decline with ₹1.4 crore on Monday. On Tuesday, The Vaccine War made ₹50 lakh and is estimated to have collected around the same amount on Wednesday.

Now let us take a glance at the story of Fukrey 3. If you might have seen the film Fukrey 2, then the third part started from where part 2 ended. Fukrey was released in 2013, which is the first installment in the three-film series. The film enjoyed a good following and viewership from the audience. The second part i.e. Fukrey Returns was released in 2017. Now the third part i.e. Fukrey 3 got the original cast without Ali Fazal featuring in the film as a lead but playing only a minor role.

The Vaccine War is inspired by the true events that happened during the COVID-19 times when Bharat Biotech in association with the National Institute of Virology and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) developed a coronavirus vaccine called Covaxin (BBV152). The film has a lead role performed by veteran actor Nana Patekar as the head scientist who has to race against time while Pallavi Joshi plays his second-in-command. Raima Sen is playing the role of a journalist who writes stories to not give credit to Indian vaccines and supports foreign-made vaccines.
