Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt’s upcoming film Sadak 2, which also featured Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt, is set to release on a digital platform.
The film was earlier set to release on 10 July in theatres but due to the pandemic, the theatres and cinema halls are closed down.
The film has been produced by Vishesh Films and Fox Star Studios and was directed by filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt.
Sadak 2 is the sequel to the 1991 film Sadak, which had Pooja Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt in main roles.
Sadak 2 was an ambitious film of the makers but they decided to release it digitally to survive in the pandemic.
Many films are releasing on OTT platforms to recover the money invested in making the films. Shoojit Sircar’s Gulabo Sitabo released on a streaming platform recently.
Also, Vidya Balan-led Shakuntala Devi, Janhvi Kapoor’s Gunjan Saxena – The Kargil Girl, and late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s last film Dil Bechara are going to be released on OTT.
