Actor Rajiv Kapoor passes away at 58

Mumbai: Actor Rajiv Kapoor, the younger son of Bollywood showman Raj Kapoor, died this afternoon from a heart attack. 58-year-old Rajiv was taken to the Inlaks Hospital near his home in Chembur where doctors declared him dead.

Rajiv worked in all films like Ram Teri Ganga Maili. Neetu Kapoor, wife of Rishi Kapoor, has confirmed this news by posting from her social media account. Neetu Kapoor shared a picture of Rajiv Kapoor with his Instagram account and wrote – Rest in Peace. They have expressed their feelings by making hand emoji.

Rajiv Kapoor worked in Hindi cinema as an actor, producer and director. Shammi Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor were Rajiv’s uncles. Talking about the work front, he made his debut as an actor on the silver screen from the film Ek Jaan Hai Hum released in 1983. Rajiv played the lead role in the film Ram Teri Ganga Maili, released in the year 1985. Aakash, lover boy, zabardast and Hum To Chale Pardes are among his most popular films.

Legendary Bollywood singer Lata Mangeshkar has mourned the demise of Rajiv Kapoor by tweeting on microblogging site Twitter. Lata Mangeshkar wrote in her tweet, “I just came to know that Raj Kapoor’s younger son, virtuous actor Rajiv Kapoor, died today. I am deeply saddened to hear. May God pray for his soul.” On Lata’s tweet, many fans have also prayed for the peace of Rajiv Kapoor’s soul.
