New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Sunday, a day after the first phase of West Bengal and Assam Legislative Assemblies elections, that peaceful voting in both the states is a positive sign for these states in the coming days. Expressing confidence of the BJP winning a landslide victory in the Bengal Assembly elections, he claimed, “As per the information received from the grassroots BJP workers present in the state, the party will win 26 out of 30 seats in the first phase elections.” Assembly elections are being held in eight phases in the state.
Shah said, “With its vision of Sonar Bangla, the BJP has raised hopes of a better West Bengal among the people of the state.” He thanked the Election Commission for conducting the first phase of elections in Bengal in a peaceful manner. “
