Mamata Banerjee sat on dharna to protest against Election Commission’s ban order

Kolkata: The Election Commission has banned 24 hours for West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee campaigning. Mamta Banerjee has sat on a dharna against this decision. Around noon, Mamta reached the Gandhi idol to perform a dharna for it. In fact, the Election Commission has banned from 8 pm Monday to 8 pm Tuesday, after which Mamata Banerjee said that she will sit on a dharna against this decision.

On Monday, Mamta Banerjee had tweeted, “I will sit on a dharna near Gandhi Murthy in Kolkata at 12 noon tomorrow to protest against the Election Commission’s undemocratic and unconstitutional decision.”

In the first notice, when the Central Election Commission sought response from Mamata Banerjee on her statement in which Mamata Banerjee had spoken to the Muslim voters to keep united. The BJP had complained that Mamata Banerjee is doing the politics of polarization of votes, while in the second notice, the Central Election Commission sought a response from Mamata Banerjee on her statement in which Mamata Banerjee had questioned the central security forces.
