Riyaz: A few months before the annual Hajj pilgrimage, Saudi Arabia has suspended a visit to holiest Islamic cities on Thursday, fearing an infection with the Corona virus.

The move has been taken after more than 220 cases of the disease were reported in West Asia. Saudi Arabia’s decision aims to prevent foreign nationals from visiting the holy city of Mecca, where one billion eight million Muslims in the world offer prayers five times a day.

The judgment also states that the visit to the mosque of Prophet Mohammad in Madina will also be prohibited. Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry announced the decision, stating, “Saudi Arabia will cooperate with all international standards as part of a measure to stop the spread of the virus and request its citizens to be affected by the corona virus.” Take precaution before traveling to countries.
