In this connection, ‘Janata curfew’ was called on Sunday, after which 75 districts of the country were locked up till 31 March. At the same time, the protests against CAA, NRI and NPR have also come down in view of increasing outbreak of virus. In Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, the women temporarily withdrew their protest.
For the past several days, women were sitting on a sit-in near Ghantaghar in Lucknow against the CAA. They have withdrawn their protest in view of the lockdown carried out in the city in the wake of the Corona virus outbreak.
Here, after the 16 districts of UP were declared lockdown, people have been competing for buying food and drink in the respective districts on Monday. In Kanpur, vegetable prices have gone up in a market in view of the lockdown.
At the same time, police are constantly patrolling in a market in Meerut. SHO of Sadar police station Vijay Gupta has said that we are patrolling that no unnecessary crowd should be gathered anywhere and do not sell essential items like milk and ration at very high prices.
Here, on the previous day, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath declared ‘lockdown’ for the next three days in 16 districts including the capital Lucknow in the first phase. The Chief Minister told reporters that the people of the state have made commendable contribution in the ‘Janata Curfew’. This program of ours will continue.
He said that these districts include Agra, Lucknow, Noida, Ghaziabad, Moradabad, Varanasi, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bareilly, Azamgarh, Kanpur, Meerut, Prayagraj, Aligarh, Gorakhpur, Pilibhit and Saharanpur. Yogi said that there is an appeal to all the citizens of these districts not to go out. Do not make unnecessary crowds and do not go to public places, because they are standing in a time where even the slightest negligence can be harmful. Police and administration will be fully patrolled in these districts.
