Amroha (UP): A 40-year-old man has been awarded life imprisonment by a court in Amroha for violating his minor daughter, sources said on Thursday. The case was tried in a fast-track court, and the trial ended in six days.

Additional district and sessions judge Avdhesh Kumar Singh passed the verdict on Wednesday after the offence was registered. Besides, Singh imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on him. Nearly, two weeks, the police arrested the man for abusing his teenage daughter for more than seven months.

And the dastardly act came to light after the girl was pregnant and taken to hospital for check-up after she had developed several complications. Her brother filed a complaint against his father, saying that the man (their father) used to rape the girl whenever other family members were away. She was found to be seven months pregnant.
