SP's Muslim MLAs are on footmarks of Azam Khan

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party’s (SP) leaders are on the footmarks of senior Azam Khan. As Azam decided not to meet the party’s delegation similarly others too. Even the MLAs Shazil Islam didn’t take part in the Iftar Party organized by the district unit of SP.

After the polls, Akhilesh Yadav is dealing with the allegations that he is not paying attention to Muslims. Though the community united before him during the UP Polls, Akhilesh is not becoming their voice. Azam was annoyed over this and his message was well circulated throughout the state. Other muslim leaders of the party too started chorusing their voices with Azam. Unhappy Azam refused to meet the SP delegation, which was sent by Akhilesh Yadav to Sitapur jail, where Azam is lodged. Though he met warm-hearted with PSP-L chief Shivpal Yadav and congress’s Acharya Pramod Krishnam.

Having his foots in the same shoes, Shazil Islam too didn’t meet the SP delegation in Bareilly. The 12-member SP delegation led by MLC Sanjay Lathar reached Bareilly on Tuesday and waited for Shazil at his petrol pump, which was recently demolished by Bareilly Development Authority. After that, the delegation reached Islam’s residence, the house was locked from the outside. The delegation had to return without meeting Shazil. On Wednesday Shazil didn’t take part in the Iftar Party too.

Expressing unhappiness by such acts

In political circles, these two incidents are the talking point. Incidents are observed as the Muslim leaders are differing their paths to Samajwadi Party as he was silent when they were treated tough by the government. The sources close to Shazil, say that he wanted to remain away from the party to avoid any other action against him. Last time too he tried to make the image of Akhilesh as a fighter for the community and he was assuring them that they shouldn’t be worried. Then the action was taken against him. An FIR was lodged and even his petrol pump was razed.
