4 teams formed to rescue abducted rape survivor

Shahjahanpur (UP): The police set up four teams to search for the 22-year-old abducted rape survivor after the intervention of Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Suresh Khanna, sources said on Friday. The husband of the school manager where the woman worked had reportedly violated and abducted her after she lodged a complaint at Tilhar police station on Wednesday night. According to superintendent of police (rural) Sanjeev Bajpai, the teams have launched a search for the woman and will soon find her.

Immediately after the abduction of the woman, her father met Khanna whose intervention forced the police to set up teams to rescue the woman from the clutches of the abductors and arrest the culprit.

According to the FIR, the culprit had taken the teacher to Shahjahanpur where he had violated the woman in a hotel and filmed it. The man asked her to keep mum otherwise he would make the video viral and kill her, the police said. When her parents went to the house of the accused, he shooed them away, threatening them with dire consequences.
