New Delhi: The Prime Minister’s Museum (Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya) has the records of the contributions of each Prime Minister for the development of the country since independence in 1974. It is a testimony to the success of India’s democracy. Each of the prime ministers has left a footprint in the country’s journey to development and economic empowerment.

Just after independence from British rule, the country was in disarray and it was a herculean task to build the nation. All the prime ministers have contributed towards the development of the country to give voice to its people’s aspirations. Teen Murti Bhawan was the residence of the first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. There are many rare gifts received by each prime minister. All those gifts are on display. The total area on which the museum stands is 15, 619 square metres. The Nehru Memorial Museum occupies 5,128 square metres.
