Bengaluru: A teacher threw hot water on a student of class-2 at a school in Raichur district of Karnataka on Friday for soiling his uniform. The student suffered 40% burns. A charitable organisation Ghanamatheshwara Grameena Samsthe runs the school in Santekallur village.  The student Akhith, admitted to Lingasaguru Takuk Hospital, is in serious condition, hospital sources said.

When the teacher Huligeppa saw the child soiled his uniform he was so furious that he sprinkled hot water, coming through a pipe, on the child.  The boy’s family has been told not to complain about the incident.  According to the police, as there was no complaint against the teacher concerned, they could not take any action. Similarly, the officials of the Women and Child Welfare Department also kept mum over the issue.
