NationalCBI raids Delhi Dy CM’s residence

Date:

New Delhi: The sleuths of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided the residential premises of Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Friday in connection with alleged irregularities in excise policy, official sources said. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has, however, strongly denied any irregularities in the excise policy. Earlier, the central probe agency registered a case for alleged irregularities in the excise policy against Sisodia and against a few top excise officers. According to CBI sleuths, Sisodia’s residence was among 21 locations they were searching across the country.

Reacting to the CBI raids, Sisodia said that he welcomed it and would cooperate with the probe agency, because he sticks to honesty and that it is unfortunate that those who work for the country are harassed in this way. According to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi’s model of education and healthcare have drawn attention from many countries across the world, but some people want to stop it. Meanwhile, the Congress said that the “relentless misuse” of probe agencies against the political opponents erodes their credibility. According to Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera, the honest end up paying the price in such processes.
