New Delhi: Barring the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) all opposition parties jointly slammed the Central government for grilling Congress’s interim president Sonia Gandhi by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday. After holding a meeting, they issued a joint statement against the harassment caused to her by the probe agency in connection with the National Herald case. According to the statement, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a relentless campaign against its political rivals.

They agreed to stand by the Congress. Although the Trinamool Congress did not take part in the meeting, as the party’s leader Mamata Banerjee was busy with the Shaheed Diwas event in Kolkata, she mentioned how the central agencies are being used against the political rivals of the ruling party.

AAP sources said that they did not stand by the Congress, since the party did not support, when the ED questioned their leader Satyendar Jain. At the meeting, Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Raut said that he was being harassed by the ED as he was most vocal against the BJP. The leaders of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and those of the Left parties said that that this is the time for all to stick together as the BJP has its eyes on the south as well. The opposition parties seemed to have come under one banner after a long time.
