NationalAaditya launches Yatra to rebuild Shiv Sena

Date:

Mumbai: Shiv Sena leader and former minister of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government Aaditya Thackeray said on Thursday that he would rebuild the party. He said at a rally, held as part of his three-day ‘Shiv Samvad Yatra’, that the present government led by Eknath Shinde would collapse, because it was formed through illegal means.

He was at Bhiwandi town in Thane district where his supporters gave him rousing welcome. The Uddhav Thackeray-led MVA government comprising the Shiv Sena, the Nationalist Congress Party and the Congress collapsed after Eknath Shinde revolted against the Shiv Sena leadership. He exited from the government with 40 legislators.
As a result, Thackeray had to resign as chief minister on June 29. After that, Shinde took oath as chief minister and Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former chief minister Devendra Fadanvis became the deputy chief minister.

Aaditya said that he had come to Bhiwandi to get the blessings of the people so that he might rebuild Shiv Sena and Maharashtra afresh. He said that the MVA government had launched many development projects, but the present dispensation crippled those schemes.

He also challenged the rebel legislators to quit and face the elections and said that Shinde rebelled against the party when his father had been unwell. He further said that the Sena rebels had been given an opportunity in the state cabinet to serve Maharashtra, but they failed and deserted the party. He, however, said if at all the party rebels wanted to return, the doors of ‘Matoshree’ would always be open to them.
